How to travel by bus from Oakland CA to Pioneer CA?
Trying to get to Pioneer (beyond Jackson CA) from Oakland without having to drive. Greyhound doesn't go into that area and can't find charter buses to Jackson (Indian casino there).

About Travel from Oakland to San Francisco
Travel from Oakland to San Francisco?
With the partial bridge outage between Oakland and SF, what is the best way for a family of 6 to get from the Oakland Airport to downtown SF? Thanks in advance!

the bridge outage isn't that big of a deal if you are driving from Oakland to SF. I still suggest taking the bay bridge ($4 toll). I don't have a map in front of me but I beleive it is 880 or 580 that you can take from the airport and it will lead you right to 80 (the bay bridge).

there is no bridge outage! its the 580east bound connector that is demolished. if ur go to sf from oakland take north 880 and go towards the bridge! or take bart.....

Hi, If you rent a car there is no problem. The closure has not effected the 880 North to San Francisco interchange. You will pick up the interchange about mid-Oakland just follow the road signs. If you are traveling between 3PM and 7PM use the Diamond lane and the bridge crossing is free. If you are thinking of Public Transportation BART will do the trick just fine.

I'm from the Bay Area...going to SF from Oakland is not the problem. Its the freeway on the other side coming from SF to Oakland. Its in the maze. You should have no problem. 880 and 580 both can take you to SF. Just follow the signs. Have fun!!

There is no partial bridge outage. One part of the collapse of the freeway (not the bridge) has been repaired. There's no problem getting into town (other than normal traffic); just follow the signs.

Take BART, the shuttle picks you up at the Oakland Airport and brings you to the Collesium BART Station, board the train to San Francisco and get off at Embarcadero or Montgomery and you are downtown, The fare is a reasonable $3.35 one way. Sure beats the traffic on the Bay Bridge and in San Francisco

Im a travel agent and I have a client that wants to fly from Oakland to Kingston, Jamaica.?
He and his companion desires to cruise From Kingston to Grenada and back and return to Oakland. I can't seem to find any info with any of the usual sources. Can you help with where I can look? I can handle the air part but the cruise info??? Travel dates: July 1-8.

It's 2,756 miles. If you only drive seven hours a day, and average 70 MPH, it'll take six days. You'd have to average closer to 80 MPH to get it down to five days, which is pretty hard to do on a long trip like this one. If six days sounds like a lot, consider driving more than seven hours per day. Bumping it up to 10 will drop the trip to four days.

Can anyone tell me what the travel time is from the Oakland Airport along the 880 where the accident closing the freeway was into San Francisco? My flight comes in at 10am, so I hope to miss the morning traffic.

why could it be closes? why dont you ask the airport?

Interstate 880 is only closed in the southbound direction when heading into Oakland from Berkeley. If you're heading from the Oakland airport towards San Francisco on 880 N, you can exit to 80 W and take the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. This will avoid the freeway closure entirely.

Take 80 West. The freeway closures do not affect bridge traffic. You'll miss morning traffic if you come in at that time.
Answer 4 :
Try using BART and avoid the freeway all together. BART has a direct shuttle service called AirBart that will bring you from the terminals to the nearby BART station.

I cannot rent the car since i cannot drive and i cannot take bus or train because i travel with other 3 foreigners who cannot speak English and have a lot of luggages.Taxi might cost around 200, but i can pay 150 at most
